I’m reading a book called My Side of the Mountain. The author is Jean Craighead George. It is about a young boy who runs away from home and lives in the woods fishing, hunting, and trapping wild game.
That book is ASOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have read more of My Side of the Mountain. In the end, Sam’s family comes up the mountain to see him and tells him that they are all going to live on the mountain in a log cabin. He is very excited about this and is happy to see his dad with all the wood to build the house. He is also happy to see his mom, dad, 4 sisters and four brothers. I would
recommend this book because it teaches alot about survival and has a lot of factual information.
I am reading My Side of The Mountain by Jean Craighead George also. I kind of think the book is a bit boring but at some parts it’s not as bad. A boy named Sam Gribley runs off to the Catskills Mountains. He uses all the forest resources he can. That is about all I’ve read so far!
Julie, the book will get better. I also thought the book was kind of boring at the beginning, when I read the book last year. I ended up liking it.(:
Nate, I’ve always thought it must get lonely after a while, living alone. I’d need a lot more contact than Sam had.
It would be hard. I can’t imagine living on my own-having to find food for three meals everyday and having to build shelter and heat it in the winter. He is brave.
I read that book last summer. I thought it was a good book. You should try reading the two sequels. One of them is called Frightful’s Mountain. I can’t remember the name of the other one.
I love that book so much….the thing that I would not like is having to sleep out…alone…in the dark!!! I would freak out!
The book that I am reading is called City of Ember. It is
about a city that is underground. The people need to find
a way to get out because the food is running out and so is the light. In this book, when kids finish school, they are assigned jobs… whether they like it or not.

I love The City of Ember. I have read all of the current books so far, including the People of the Sparks (the second book) and the Prophet of Yonwood (the third book.) They are some of the best books I’ve read, and I read a lot of them.

My forth grade teachr read me that book. I thought that it was exciting!

OMG I loved reading that book in fourth grade with Mrs. Cliffe! I think that everyone should read this book!
I am reading Inkspell, the sequel to Inkheart. Inkspell is about a girl Meggie, her father Mo, her mother Resa, and her great-aunt Elinor. Meggie reads herself into a book called Inkheart, just like her father can do. They can read things out of and into books. Meggie goes on a magical journey, in the Inkworld, through Lombrica and Argenta.
I’ve heard those books are great from everybody but haven’t gotten the chance to them myself.
I can’t wait to read them!
I love Inkheart and Inkspell. I haven’t finished Inkspell yet, but it is still a very good book. It’s really thrilling and mysterious.
I love Inkheart! I was waiting for the book to come in to the library so I read Inkdeath a hundred times when I was waiting!
I want to read this book 2!!! When I’m done with the series that I’m reading called Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

I read the Diary of a Wimpy kid. The book was really good and funny. At the beginning he had to take swimming class and whenever the guy shot the gun to begin, he would always sink down to the bottom of the pool because he did not know where the bullet would land. Then a little farther into the book he did not want to go swimming so he went into the bathroom for the rest of the class,but he was cold so he wrapped himself in toilet paper. Then his big brother picked him up after class and made him sit in the back of his band van where all his band stuff was, and he kept bumping his head and stuff like that and that’s my book!!!!!!!!

That book was really good! I love that series.
I am reading a book called LOST AND FOUND, the author is Andrew Clements and he is great. The book is about two twins who are mistaken for each other, in truth, during those first few daye at school, there’s nothing better than having a twin brother there with you. But on day one of sixth grade, Ray stays home sick. Then the nurse starts to find out. This is a very exciting, and mysterious book.
I want to read that book, it looks really good!!!!

I am reading the book called Freedom Crossing. Freedom Crossing is about a 13 year old named Anna. She grew up down south where they liked and relied on slavery. Anna moved up north and gets a special surprise. HER DAD’S PART OF THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD!!!!!!! She has grown up her whole life with a slave at her grandma’s and grandpa’s plantation and now she is asked to help a slave. WHAT WILL SHE DO???????????????????? Read to find out….

I’m reading a book called The Fire Within. It’s about a tenant named David, who moves into a house with a girl, Lucy, and her mom, Liz. Liz makes clay dragons and sells them at craft fairs. David gets a dragon and names it Gazooks. Gazooks helps him as he writes a book about a squirrel named Conker, who has an injured eye, and another one named Snigger. Snigger is the only squirrel that smiles. But David doesn’t know that, as he types, his book is coming true. And he thinks he sees Gazooks come to life.

The book I am reading is called Palace Of Mirrors by Margret Peterson Haddix. The main character of the book is Cecilia. She was taught to believe that she was the real princess, but in hiding from an evil force, and one night the lock broke, she ran, and she was captured…by the ‘fake’ princess!!

I’m reading Robinson Crusoe which is by Daniel Defoe. I am on chapter 4. So far he has already been through 2 storms, has been captured by pirates, escaped, gotten a plantation, and gotten 1 African slave. It is an AWESOME book.
Robinson Crusoe is one of my favorites. I know you’ll enjoy the rest of the book.

I a reading the book called The Dragon Fly Pool. The book is about this kid who goes to this school and at this school there is this tree that is like 300 years old and if you climb this tree then you would get in really big trouble. But people at this school would never get expelled just get in trouble and this kid is a girl and she has a younger brother and sister. She went to this school to get away from them. She loves her aunts and she writes to them everyday after school and they write back. Her dad misses her too, more then her aunts. The book does not say anything about her mom in the book and I really do not know why. I like this book because it looked really good and it is really good. I hope that other people wil read this this because it is so good so please please read it is so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Side of the Mountain is one of my favorites!
I read Tiger Eyes by Judy Blume. It was about a girl whose father died. Their aunt and uncle came down from Los Almos and took care of the family. Then she went back to her aunt and uncle’s to live there. They lived there for a while and she met a boy that she liked. She had to face the truth. It’s a really good book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Hey, I have done a report on Judy Blume. It’s interesting.
I have been reading a very good series of books called Harry Potter. I have been reading the series since I was 5 years old and I have loved it ever since. I have liked magic and wizards ever since. Out of all 7 of them I would have to say my favorite would be number 4: The Goblet of Fire. It is so different from all the others. I would have to say that the 7th one is my least favorite. Everyone dies in it. I would have to say that I really like wizard gatherings the most because wizards can’t help but to show off. I think it is a good book for everyone.

The book I read was the The Challenger Explosion. It is about the space shuttle the Challenger. There were 7 people on the shuttle when exploded. One of the people was a teacher. The date was January 28,1986. People all over the United States were very sad. The book is written as a comic book.

I’m reading THE GIVER. It is by Lois Lowry. It is about a kid named Jonas. He lives in a very controlled community. Everybody has the same clothes, the same things in their house, the same bike, and the same size house. The parents are given a child when the child is two, and it has to be one boy and one girl. Children start working when they are twelve. It is very different from real life but IT IS A REALLY GOOD BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Logan, some of the themes are tough. Jonas will have some difficult choices ahead. It really gets you thinking….
I just read a fiction book called Double Identity, by Margret Peterson Haddix. This is a gripping story about a thirteen year old girl named Beth whose mother constantly cries. She is suddenly taken to an unfamiliar place by both her mother and father, called Summerfield. She gets left at an aunt’s house that she never even knew existed. Through the book she goes through multiple twists, turns, and mysteries that draw you in. To learn the secrets of Bethany’s past, present, and future read Double Identity. It is one of the best books I have read.
This book sounds very cool, maybe I will read it sometime!!

I’m reading a book called THE TITAN’S CURSE. It’s the third book in a series called PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS. Percy Jackson is a half blood (a half blood is a person that is half human and half god). In this book Percy goes with his friends Annabeth and Thiala on a trip to a military school and finds his friend Grover. There is a border around the camp so monsters don’t get in and hurt or kill the half bloods.
Wow, Elizabeth that is one of my favorite author. Maybe I will read it after I finish my book.

My favorite book is DragonArt. The author is Jessica Peffer. I think it’s great.
My book that I am reading is called Mary, Bloody Mary. I’m now in the middle of the book and enjoying it very much. I recommend this book to people who like sad and some what scary princess adventures. The main character, Mary, goes through a lot and up to age 10 her life was good. But when Anne B. comes to the castle to be a lady in waiting, her life changes. When she turns 15, she has many ups and downs with her King Henry. Did I mention SHE MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO BE QUEEN!!!!!!!????????
This book will get you to feel the way Mary feels. Also it is very dramatic and I hope you read it.

Ahhh…..I already read that. She does become queen, for a while at least. Want to know all the facts that aren’t in the library? I can tell you whatever you want to know about her. And, you should read the one about Anne and the one about Elizabeth. If you read all the points of view you understand the whole messed up history thing that went on back then. The history of England at that time is crazy and it is hard to find out what really happened.:-P

I am reading a book called I’m Not Who You Think I Am. It is about a girl named Ginger. A lady named Joyce follows her because she thinks Ginger is her daughter. Because Joyce does not belive that her daughter
died an hour after birth. I recommend this book to people who like sad, aciton packed books. I really enjoyed this book. I could never put it down. I hope you read it and enjoy it as much as I did!

I’m starting this book called Cicada Summer and it looks really good. Lily is good at spying and good at keeping secrets and she has a lot of her own secrets that nobody else can find out. She is a good reader and it says she reads every Nancy Drew book in the library.
I’ve read Cicada Summer. I love it so much, but I think it has a slightly disappointing ending. I think everyone should read it.

I’m reading a book called The Cay. It’s by Theodore Taylor. This book is about a boy named Phillip and an old man named Timothy. The boy lives in the Caribbean; at this time when he’s a boy there is a war going on. His mom wanted to leave to go to the mainland with Phillip. The father must stay though because he has to stay to work at the Lago Oil Refinery.
When they get on the boat to leave, they’re pretty far out when they are hit by a submarine. The heat pipe makes a fire and they evacuate the boat to the life boats. When he woke up (because he got hit in the head with a board and became unconscious), he found himself with a black man named Timothy and Stew Cat the chef’s cat. After being on the lifeboat for a couple days, they saw an island. Well, Timothy did – Phillip became blind from looking at the sun too much.
They got to the island in April. They built huts and wove mats to sleep on. They had a keg of water, and a knife and rope that were in the life boat. They lived there for months. They went fishing in a special spot, Timothy had made many fishing poles. Then one day in July there was a horrible storm. Since Phillip was blind, he and Timothy made a rope out of vines that went around the small island so he could get around. That’s when Timothy learned why he taught him so carefully and used vine not rope. The day of the storm they tied their belongings to the top of a palm tree so they would not lose it. It was so rough someone died and there was no one else on the island to help them. In this book, friends are made and tears are cried. I LOVE THIS BOOK IS IS SO GOOD!

My book is Hit and Run by R.L.Stine. It’s about three boys and one girl. They are going to get their licenses in two weeks. One of the boys takes his parents’ car and they went for a drive at midnight. They end up hitting a man!
I take it by the title that when they hit the man they run away so they don’t get in trouble!? Sounds interesting!
I’m reading WARRIORS: FIRE AND ICE. It’s about four clans: Thunder Clan, Shadow Clan, Wind Clan, and River Clan. Star Clan it the clan where the dead cats go. Fire Heart is a warrior, but there’s danger still in the forest and it getting closer then he thinks. With the chilly winter coming, the cats of River Clan are getting restless and Wind Clan is facing threats from all sides. I say if you like cats then this is a book for you. THE WARRIORS SERIES IS GREAT BOOK!!!!!!:)

I am reading a VERY good book called The Cay. The author of it is Theodore Taylor. It is about a boy called Phillip and his family who live in the Caribbean. sThen his life changes as the German send their submarines to blow up any ship that tries to enter and any ship that tries to leave. Scared, his mother says that they have to leave. But she will not go by plane, so ship is the only answer. Submarines have not been seen in days, so they board the ship. It is carrying some oil and liquids to the mainland, where Phillip and his mother are going. But the father must stay because he works for the Lago Oil Refinery. Soon Phillip and his mother are on the water and sailing away, but then a underwater missle comes and hits them. Phillip’s mother is put in one life raft and he is put in another. Then he is in the water because he fell over and is swimming and then a plank hits his head and he goes unconsious! Days later he wakes up and is on a raft alone with a black man named Timothy. Read the book to learn more! It gets more exciting and better! A must read!!

I read that book when Jade made me take it home for her. I was so into it I stayed up all night reading it, because I had to give it to her in the morning. Hope you enjoy reading it. :p
I’m reading a book called Prairie Whispers. The book is about this girl named Colleen. Her mother died in the book, Colleen is now alone and has to know what to do with the baby. So the stroy is sad so far for me to read.
Autumn that sounds like a really good book. I think that after I read Maggie Makes Three I will read The Cay too. It looks really good!

Right now I am reading Heartbeat – so far it is a good book. It is about this girl named Annie. She snuck into her grandfather’s room and found a picture of him running!! She does cross-country. So she was wondering why he had that picture, so she asked him and he said “I didnt want to do it.” So so far it is a weird book!!
I am reading a book called Baby. It is about this family that lives on an island. They find a baby on their porch when they get home and they are trying to decide to keep it or not.
Also in Double Identity, Bethany finds out something about her and her family that you would never expect. It is a mystery/thriller. I love it please read this compelling book by Margret Peterson Haddix.
I really enjoy the book Ella Enchanted it is a very good book! I can never put it down and I’ve read it so many times and it never gets old

Waiting for Normal is really good if you like books about real people…Addie has just moved into an old trailer with her mom and needs to make the best of a tough situation. She doesn’t have much, but she does have hope!
I’m starting My Side of the Mountain. I think the book is very much about nature. Most likely how to survive without your resources around you to read about plants and stuff.
I just read Climbing the Stairs, a compelling story of a girl named Vidya living under British law in a time of war. She moves when her father is seriously injured and once she moves she finds the love of her life.
I am reading a book called A Wrinkle In Time. It is very confusing so far. There is a lady named Mrs. Whatsit. That is all I have read.

Hi, my name is Kalah and I am reading The Runner. I am only on Chapter 1, and so far the kid was going to school. He does not like his mom so as was walking to school, he noticed that he didn’t like school or his mom so he ran away.
I am reading Watership Down. It is a book about unusual rabbits that run away from their warren and go on an adventure.
I read Craker. This book is a very good book- sad at the starting but exciting in the middle. I recommend this book to anyone that loves animals! The title sounds boring, but in real life it is not. The starting is boring but when you get into it is not.
I am reading a book series called Nancy Drew, and it is one of the best series that I have read! I highly recommend it!! Also, the Harry Potter series are great books to read! Nancy Drew is a mystery series and Harry Potters are just great books! Both are awesome series!

I just finished a book called the House On the Gulf. This book is about a single mother who has two kids. One’s name is Brandon, he is 16, and the other’s name is Brittany, she is 12. They move to a place called Sunset Terrace, Florida from a small town in Virginia. This struggling family is living in a very small apartment filled with mold. It is summer time and Brandon lands a summer job mowing lawns at the Marquis’s house. After mowing the lawn for a while the Marquis’s have to go to New York and ask Brandon to house sit. He and his whole family can stay in their beautiful house for the summer. But were they really invited…who are the Marquis’s…and why is Brandon acting so strangly? Read this book filled with mysterious twists and turns to find out!
I’m starting to read Naruto. You read the opposite way. It is now easy for me to read it the right way. *-*

I read The Giver last trimester. It is about a boy that gets a really important job. He finds out about things he had never known before and only people that have the same job as he does know about it. He finds out stuff about his parents that makes him hate them. He finds out that his baby brother is going to be killed so he runs away and takes his brother with him. It is a good book. It doesn’t make any sense until you read the first couple chapters.
Right now I’m reading a book called, Cracker the Best Dog in Vietnam. It’s about a boy who has to give up his dog because his dad lost his job and they move into a apartment that doesn’t allow dogs. So the dog goes to Vietnam to work with soldiers in the war. But first, Cracker needs to get used to his “partner”. Then they’re off to Vietnam to “whip the world” the soldier said.
I also read The Seer Shadow. The cover looks scary but it is not, people should read it !!!!

The book that I’m reading a series called Percy Jackson & the Olympians. The one that I’m reading is book 5: The Last Olympian. It’s about a boy named Percy. He is a halfblood, which means that he is half human and half god. It is about Greek gods. Some poeple think that Greek gods are wierd and the books about them are boring, but I think that you should try this book because it makes you feel that you are right there fighting the monsters with Percy. This series is a very good one and you shoud try it!!!!!!!!!!
I’m reading a book called Bad,Badder,andBaddest. This book is about two girls. One’s parents are getting a divorce and she might have to move. So they run away…..And that’s as far as I have gotten. This book is very interesting and has a lot of details. You should read it. All of you!
I read a book called What Mr. Matteo Did. He abuses girls in the school where he works. GROSS I know. It talks about their struggles to tell someone what he did to them, and to tell their parents. I would recommend it to all of my friends. It is really sad, and it talks about their journey about telling and deciding if they want to tell someone.
I’ve read a book called Blackwater. This book is so good. It’s about this boy and he lives in a town where there is a big river with black water. The river is called Blackwater. The river is very dangeruos and deadly. When there are floods many things go down river. If you fall in it’s hard to get out because there is such a strong current. Also there would not be much time to get out because there is a waterfall down the river. A boy likes this girl and he was going to go on a date with her. The boy lives by the river and one day early early in the morning he and his cousin went out to swim. They went swimming at the toadstool area which is a little cocoon. The girl he likes and another boys is on the big rock that seperates the rushing river from the cocoon. He plays a prank and puts their stuff in a hole in the ground. Then he gets in the pool area very quietly. Then he pulls on the girl’s leg. He swims back quietly and hides. The boy tries to help the girl but they both end up going down river. There are police and a huge search crew. Also, there is a neighbor they call Batgirl because she watches bats. She goes to special areas to watch bats with very strong binoculars. The boy tries to help the girl and boy that went down river almost sending himself down river too. But he was too late. People called him hero for helping even though he’s not. He won’t tell anyone what really happened but there are only two other people that really know what happened- the cousin and Batgirl but he didn’t find out Bat girl knew till the end. Will they find the boy and girl down river? Will the boy and girl die? THIS BOOK IS REALLY GOOD!! If you did read this( because most people wouldn’t because it is so long) you should read that book.

I am reading a book called “The Summer Of Riley”.
Hey, if you read my last post, you might know I’m reading the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 5, called The Last Olympian. I finished it! Percy went to battle against Kronos and his army. Percy is worried because there is a spy telling Kronos things about camp and what Percy’s army is doing. Percy wants to check everyone but doesn’t because he doesn’t want his army to fall apart. When the spy tells Kronos that they don’t have any children of Ares, Kronos releases a Drakon (not dragon but Drakon) that only a child of Ares could kill. Percy finds out the hard way who the spy is.
Hey, I’m starting a new book and I don’t really think I like it. It’s called Eragon. A man goes hunting through the woods and he finds an egg. He thinks that it will make his poor family rich and he brings it home. But when th egg cracks he doesn’t know what he will do.
I saw a commercial like this called the water horse and it makes me think of Eragon!!
